Oliver found a giant pile of letters when he got home from school today on his desk.
"Mom, where did all of these letters come from?"
"Oh, your friend...uh...what was his name?Uhh....wasn't it...Carmen?"
Oliver's eyes widened in disbelief. His friend Carmen had disappeared 4 years ago. Before he disappeared he started talking about a creature with no face in the woods. The police started a search the day after he went missing, but they cancelled it an hour later for..."reasons".
"Mom...Carmen went missing 4 years ago..."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah."
"Oh.I'm so sorry..."
"It's fine."
Oliver grabbed all the letters and quickly headed upstairs. He flopped onto his bed and grabbed a letter and started to read it.

Don't leave me (billdip)
After a terrible car crash resulting in the death of their parents, 17 year olds Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent back to Gravity Falls to live with their Grunkles. Mabel now hates Dipper, and blames him for the crash, since they were only out getting him his anxiety medication. The Grunkles don't fully agree with Mabels logic, but are still distant with Dipper, for they think he's a freak because of his anxiety. And so in the one place he felt he could truly call home, Dipper was now alone and hated by the "family" that once loved him. One night, Dipper overhears the family talking about how useless he is and, doing the only thing he knows, he runs. Perverse Discovery
This is a series of short stories inspired by a friend. After buying a new house his mom found a letter (random scribbling?) left behind in a back closet. The scrap of folded paper had warnings about demons that lived in the walls and forced him to sell his house. Needless to say it was an unsettling discovery. Pair that with my own personal experience of buying a house sight unseen and moving (literally) halfway across the country in the middle of a pandemic I had enough material to put together a short collection of stories. Each story opens with an item discovered in a house followed by either the origin of the item or the discovery of the item. All focus around the experience of someone moving. I write these for fun (there are more coming, just editing at the moment) and my own entertainment during the time of social distancing. I hope you find something relatable or at the very least gets you thinking. Enjoy! The Contract
Something didn't feel right. I looked around my room slowly; cautiously; taking everything in and trying not to feel too nervous. Perhaps Lure was in my room right now, watching me, silently laughing to himself. I didn't doubt it. I slipped off my bed and walked around, hugging my waist, and tilted my head. I felt my rough ponytail slide against the back of my neck and over my shoulder as I moved. "Lure?" I hissed, "Lure, are you there?" I wandered around a little, for some reason feeling scared. But why? It was only Lure. He wouldn't hurt me, would he? "Okay, Lure. Quit it. I know it's you. Who else would it-" I stopped, startled, when I heard a strange sound that made me cringe. It was like fingernails being dragged across a chalkboard. I whipped around and came face-to-face with my mirror. Immediately, I saw the difference. Various scratches were displayed across the glass, forming words. It looked as if claws had written the words in the mirror. "Deepest apologies, but it was fun." But after a month rolls around, Alison still thinks the whole situation was a bit odd; Gabe could and would never do that to himself. She would know, considering their friendship since fourth grade. She and Tiger make up a plan ---- them being the detectives --- to find out what exactly happened to their friend, but it all goes downhill when the plan... means them getting lured to their worst nightmares and fears, and in the same way Gabriel gets trapped in the mysterious Three Door Curse... Midnight in Duskwood
After her mother passed away a week later, MC returned to her home and left the hectic city life. She discovered an old hand phone inside her mother's desk while cleaning the house, but it was empty. She was suddenly interrupted by a call on that hand phone. Thomas asked her if she knew where Hannah, his girlfriend, was since he had gotten a message from her with a phone number. She has been joined to a group chat with Hannah's friends and family while she is still perplexed. After all the commotion from the group chat, a hacker by the name of Jake got in touch with her. He asks for MC's assistance in finding Hannah, and MC must comply because she has no other option. The more information the MC learned about Hannah and the others while looking for clues, Jake and MC thought one of Hannah's friends was responsible for Hannah's disappearance. Then, MC learned about the man without a face, legendary Duskwood creature; he leaves a raven's mark on the doors of the worst sinners. Each year, on the night of the first new moon, he returns to the houses he has marked, drags anybody inside-guilty or not-out into the forest, never to be seen again. MC initially refused to believe in paranormal phenomena, but as time went on, inexplicable catastrophes began to occur. The faceless individual attacked Jessy, threatened Cleo's mother in a letter, and painted a red raven symbol on Richy's garage. Jake and MC continue their investigation into Hannah's disappearance because it appears that no harm has been done until Richy was attacked by the man without a face in the woods and was bleeding. What will MC do after that? (COMPLETED but EDITING) After their summer in Gravity Falls, Dipper, and Mable return home. Time passes, and the twins change. They grow up. Mable becomes a free and outgoing teen and Dipper? Well, he isolated himself and everyone around him didn't seem to notice. And being alone with one's thoughts doesn't usually end well for anyone, so how will it end up for Dipper? Shortly after their 3rd year of high school ends, their parents think they need some time outside the city, and they send them back to Gravity Falls for the summer. When they moved into their new home, they began to unpack their stuff and get settled into their new home. Adam hopes this a start of somehing new. He miss his happy daughter so much. It breaks his hurt to see her sad and hurt. Next day he visit a second-hand store and he finds a beautiful doll. He knows how much Raven loves to collect old vintage dolls. The woman who sells the doll tell him that her name is Annabelle. She says that his daughter must take good care of her. She warns him that nasty things have happened to Annabelle's previous owners. Adam bought her and take the doll home. But the nightmare has just started.Complete

He gets a phone call from his youngest daugther on the way home from school. She tell him she'll take the way through the forest, but promise to be careful. They say goodbye and hung up. But she never comes home. Adam report her missing. He gets another call later in the night from his husband. He tells me that Emily is in the hospital. She was found unconscious in the woods by the police. Luke says she has horrible nightmares about a man without a face. Adam and Vanessa quickly go to the hospital to be by her side. Three days later, Emily is allowed to return home. But she's not the same again. She has still nightmares and she see things that nobody else see. Adam and Luke are very worried about her. When Emily is accused of stabbing her classmate, they know they have to help her.Complete

It was a Sunday night, family night for the Greens. They were playing a board game when it happened. At exactly 11:11 pm; a time for wishes, a sixteen year old girl wished for true love one day. At that exact moment her window smashed and something flew into her room. It was a flock of them; they attracted the house and only took one thing: the girl. She remembers it clearly, the way she screamed scared out of her mind. The way it grabbed her waist and took off. She remembers screaming for help but no one came to her rescue. Oh how she wishes that she left her safety knife in her room. Then they would be safe. Her family! She just hopes they were fine, but the conclusion that she was taken says that her family would be back to normal soon. She sighs and thinks over her life. From a little kid she was always the loner. But her family loved her to death. It all changed when she turned ten. The world was changing. She remembers the exact day at the exact time. Her birthday; she calls it the hell day. Something bad always happens on her birthday and that year was the worst so far. On February 20/2020 at exactly 2:20 On the news they had let out the horrible announcement. Scientist's experiments had gone wrong. They call them the "Stone Devils". They were escaping from the labs and into our world. Made of stone and all male. Winged creatures that come into the night. Steal and kill their prey. That's what she heard but she didn't believe it until a few nights ago. (kinda like the movie Warm Bodies)Complete
