Society has finally found a way to determine from birth which children will grow up to be depressed and possibly suicidal. They've deemed these children 'terminals', separating them from the 'pures'. This dystopian novel warns against the tragic stories that will come if we continue to dismiss the depressed as inhuman instead of working towards understanding and helping others that need it. No one is too far gone. Everyone can be happy when given the right chance. This story has no smut, but PS: the ending is worth it 😏

These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. Rose is 19, meaning she doesn't have long before it her turn. Everyone gets their blood drawn daily, but no one knows why. The only a adults are the Helpers (the doctors) as Rose likes to call them and Them but Rose doesn't ever know if they're human. When she gets assigned to a doctor she starts asking questions; questions that will hurt the people she cares about.
