Over the years Newt Scamander had encountered many a beast, but none quiet like the one he met during his short time at Hogwarts.
To many, she was indeed a beast but to Newt and the Ministry of Magic, her kind was considered just another magical being. One who was regarded with human dignity.
The fiery Gryffindor quickly befriended the Hufflepuff and his Slytherin friend, and the trio were inseparable. It was many years after graduating from Hogwarts, after Newt's expulsion and therefore late graduation, that Newt and Sage had ventured the globe in search for beasts of all shapes and sizes.
And this was where their first expedition to New York went awry.

The year is 1926, seventy years before Emily Potter reads her books in school. Newt Scamander, a British young activist and zoologist along with his group of companions, just completed a global excursion. Find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures, arrive for a brief stopover in New York. Holding a mysterious leather suitcase, sheltering diverse and magical creatures. They might have gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj. A misplaced of the magical case and the escape of some of the fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and non-maj worlds. Then, in the face of a fragile equilibrium of secrecy and increasing disasters, ascribed to the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. Along with an invisible devastating and unpredictable meanace still wrecks havoc in New York.

Newt's travel ban was not in place until after his book was published and he was able to visit Tina in New York before then. They become close, very close, but then, when Newt isn't allowed to leave the country, he is unable to explain the mistake in an article about him. Their relationship falls apart and they don't see each other again until Newt finally tracks Tina down, in Paris. The Fantastic Beasts movies do not belong to me.
