Horsekit has a great reputation. Her mother, Cinderstripe, saved the clan from the Twolegs. You'd be respected too, right? Until she became mute and disfigured. An accident involving a fox, kills her brother, and permanently injures her. Stormstar, the leader, doesn't think that she could become a warrior, what she wanted to be when she was old enough. So he appoints her as the medicine cat apprentice AND a warrior apprentice. He says she has to train in both positions. And she has three moons to train in both, and pass both assessments to chose what she wants to be. If she fails one, Stormstar chooses what her future holds. But training in both ranks isn't easy. It takes a toll on the body, mind, and emotions. So Horsepaw looses friends, gains friends, makes sacrifices, and finds out shocking secrets. Frostkit, a kit of ThunderClan, is very Independent and doesn't understand why most things were fun. She also has a quick-temper and was most of the time polite though fierce. Her mother died when she was born and Frostkit always thought it was Mistleaf's fault, though her father said she wasn't the reason. Frostpaw becomes more independent then ever as cats from outside the Clan roams inside the Clans. The senior warriors of ThunderClan have met them before and eagerly accepts them into the Clan. Frostpaw feels that they are weird and tries to stay away from them any way that she can, but what happens when something horrible happens?
