Hadley Raymon is an intern at Georgia's Ocean Wildlife Rehabilitation Center working towards becoming a Marine Biologist. When a big New York City investor moves into the little town of Broadfield and tries to buy them out, Hadley is furious. Until she meets the investor's son Dylan. Dylan is a senior just like her. Except he's arrogant and has a sense of entitlement as big as the city itself. Dylan is used to the privileged life where he gets everything he wants until he meets Hadley. When he moves to the little town of Broadfield, he feels like a fish out of the water. All his big rich friends are back in New York and he's forced to make new ones. When his father takes him to the Rehabilitation Center, also the future site of Terrance Casino and Hotel, he runs into Hadley and is intrigued by her at first sight. The two of them grow fond of each other and find ways to see each other more and more. And when Hadley discovers that Dylan is the son of the investor who bought them out, she is furious. Will Dylan fight for her and the Center? Or will things go south like the turtles in winter?
