Hiatus, may eventually continue maybe not

Ranelu Rae. What do I make of this beautiful girl? She's sitting right next to me but yet... we feel so far away.
"What are you thinking about?" She asks.
I glance at her. "Oh, nothing."
She shrugs and goes back to her work.
I watch her. Her long orange hair sways as she writes. Her bright blue eyes sparkle with hints of green. Why is it that I feel so attracted to her? She's perfect, that's why.
When I first saw her I immediately knew I would have to get to know her. And now that I have, I'm stuck in a limbo between friends and something else. How can I tell if she likes me? How can I tell if she's even open to something like that? She's probably straight.
But either way, I'll still love her.

Briar is a freshman in high school, and the year isn't quite going as planned. It's her first full school year being completely out as biromantic and asexual, and she and her first semi-serious (as serious as an asexual relationship can go) boyfriend had just broken up over the summer. But when she meets Ranelu at freshman orientation, her mind is open to new possibilities.
Only, someone from the past is determined to make her life miserable. When her ex returns to try to become part of her life again, it quickly becomes obvious he has a twisted plan to hurt Briar and everyone she loves.

I glanced down to her lips but then I scooted away while clearing my throat. She hmm'd, "You tried to kiss me again." I shook my head and said "Nope. I didn't, I tried not to kiss you, as you see." She rolled her eyes with a soft smile. "Maybe if you did let me kiss you...just once, I would stop trying." She sighed softly "I got my doctorate at 24 You know I'm not a dumbass right?" I just let out a soft sigh "Thank you for everything" I hugged her and held her tightly. She wrapped her arms around me. She pulled back and I looked at her lips. "I should go." I said softly. "You can have one kiss-" I kissed her. ________________________________________ India Jones is a true Chicagoan girl who, to unfortunate circumstances, has to move to Texas with her father. Change often comes unexpectedly, reshaping our lives in ways we never anticipated. When I started high school, everything around me shifted. My best friend began focusing on her music career, leaving me feeling left behind, just watching her life unfold from a distance. I had no idea she'd go on a tour that would take her away from me, and with each passing day, our once-close friendship faded into a distant memory. That year was filled with self-doubt and sadness. I clung to the memories of our laughter and shared dreams, which now felt like a painful joke. Her absence left a mark that took years to heal. In my sadness, I pulled away from everyone, closing myself off. I stopped doing the things that used to make me happy, convinced that I didn't deserve joy without her. Life pushed me to move on, and I chose to start fresh in a new city. There, I found a group of friends who helped me rebuild the trust I had lost-not just in others, but in myself. For the first time in what felt like forever, I saw a glimmer of hope. I was slowly putting together the pieces of my broken identity. But just when I started to feel like myself again, fate had other plans. Out of nowhere, she appeared at my door, a ghost from my past seeking forgiveness. Her presence was both comforting and painful, a reminder of the girl I once knew and the friendship we had. But I was no longer that same person; I had changed. I fought to suppress the emotions that surged from memories I thought I had buried deep within. I wanted her to see that I was okay without her, that I didn't need her anymore. Yet, like always, she broke through my defenses, and I just couldn't keep those feelings locked away forever. Now, everything is coming back to haunt me, crashing down like relentless waves. I'm struggling to hold myself together as I feel shattered. She doesn't grasp the pain I endured after she left, but I know I must find a way to reconcile with her and confront the scars that still linger in me.

"Oh my darling, when you smile, it is like a song" - "Obviously," She started. There was a nervous shake in her voice that made me tilt my head in her hands. "Obviously you don't understand the agreement." She repeated after quickly composing herself. I rolled my eyes, but let her continue. "Where you go, I go. Where I go, you go." She told me sternly. Her thumbs grazed my cheeks and heat rose on my skin where she touched. I couldn't tell if this was just Sophia being caring or if she was maybe feeling more. My brain told me that this was all a friendly gesture, but my body and it's stupid hormones were telling me that it was something more. And your brain can never really overcome true instincts. I moved closer towards her, shrinking the already limited space between us. This time it was Sophia's turn to blush which only made my smile grow larger. All I could think about was her lips meeting mine. (a new and improved skmw xx)
