Valerie is a, twenty-three year old African American, girl on the subway home. When suddenly the lights all shut off and the train begins to accelerate. Finally when she arrives at her train station and when she exits, she sees that nothing is what it should be. The sky is black, sun as red as blood, stars brighter then gem stones and the clouds scarlet red; she swears that she is in a cave. As she's walking downtown, she sees people in all sorts of different attire; some are dressed as though they just came from the revolutionary war, others in sweats and sweatpants. There's a sleek all black limousine driving down fifth avenue. The flags on the side are odd, they are mustangs but made out of skeleton and the background is blood red. The license plate reads yours truly and the windows are tinted all black. Everyone seems to avoid the vehicle and everyone seems just a little too happy. I was walking to my locker when I heard someone calling for somebody. "Hey! Little cutie!" They called. I kept waking, since no one noticed me and I doubted that it would've started then. It was a hallway full of cute girls, all of them much cuter than me, so why would they be calling for me? They whistled. "Shortie with the ponytail!" They called, their voice now closer to me. I still kept walking to my locker since there were still several other girls, who were taller than me but still relatively short, wearing ponytails. I felt a light tap on my shoulder once I got to my locker. I turned around and my breath caught in my throat at who was talking to me. Maximus King. The hottest guy in all of Hillside High. With his jet black hair that was always messy but still looked amazing, his steel grey eyes that all the girls talked about, his sharp jawline that could cut someone, his tall, six-foot five inches form that towered over me, and his strong form that could easily take out pretty much all of the guys in school, he was what every girl looked for. He had a bit of a bad reputation, well, a lot of a bad reputation, but most girls didn't care about that. I cared, and was very afraid of him and all of his friends except for Xander.
