Scout is smart, logical, mature. But when it comes to feelings, she's clueless. In a world after society collapsed, many new nations-and people-have been formed. Radiation from an experiment caused much of the world to shrink in size, and these tiny people quickly formed their own communities. As for Scout, she lives in one of two nations that exist after the blast on the continent of North America. Her nation has slowly lost the "magical powers" they gained after the blast, and has switched to fixing the old machinery from the old nation that once stood in its place. But the other nation, whose border is right near Scout's school, is dangerous. They still have magic. And the queen is using it to kill anyone in her nation with brown or black eyes. Scout is finnally getting a chance to live up to her name. Because of her gray eyes, she can easily slip across the border unharmed. But she will be the one to make the call of who will make the first move, while battling nightmares and the romantic interests of two guys. Peace is no longer an option. Anywhere.
