In this retelling of a classic tale, Mariette struggles through life with a stepmother that hates her. When she is whisked away at the prince's ball, she begins to believe that her life is going to change-that is until the prince discovers that her slipper is a perfect fit for her stepsister. Fighting the urge to confess her secret, Mariette and her family move into the prince's castle, where old friends-and fiancés-are reunited. Note on Setting: This takes place in a kind of fictional France (hence many of the names, though they speak English). Postscript: "Lady" is a title given to woman married to a man with an estate, much like "Queen" is given to a woman married to a man with a castle. "Mistress" is given to a woman yet to inherit an estate, though of high-class breed (one would not refer to a beggar or maid as 'Mistress'). Monsieur (pronounced Mi-syur, despite the spelling) is a title given to a man that has yet to or has inherited an estate.

Join Ella on her journey of self-discovery as she travels through a plot filled with unique characters, magic, and romance. Cinderella story with a twist. This is only one of the MANY stories I have begun to write. Please bear with me as I might be writing this book kinda slowly. But I promise that I will try to deliver it at a good speed.

Once upon a time, in a land far away. Ella's life has always been hard, especially since her father had died when she was a baby. But at least she had a mother who loved her, a house to live in and a few animal friends too. This is an amazing rendition of the Cinderella story, one that is sure to be treasured for ages. This story may be different in many aspects, but it stays true to what the Cinderella story is all about: A handsome prince, a beautiful young maiden, glass slippers, and of course, a pumpkin.
