Della finds the journal of her dead grandmother. The woman she was the closest with. The woman who helped raise her. She always knew her grandma was "well seasoned" as her grandfather would put it, but she never knew everything. Now that she has this piece of family history, it's like her eyes have been opened completely. As if she can finally understand why her and her mother were raised the way they were. Why they were always so open. But as she reads on, she starts to question if it was a mistake to even look at it.
