"I held on to his hand as the fire grew around me, devoring books, herbs, and anything else in it's way. The smell was awful, the smell of chared wood mingled with burnt herbs. Oh dear god, what had my parents signed me upon for when I joined this crazy man and became the apothecary's apprentice." My rather clever way of working with life problems, hidden under a semi alright story, if I do say so myself. New chapter Thursday, every week.

"You know I'm not a man of many wise words Chloe Potter." Said the boy, who I have always thought as rather dim "and I don't care who you are, or who you're related to..." "Ugh, where exactly are you going with this?" I rolled my eyes, looking into the amber flames of the fire that set homely and warm light around the room. The way the light danced across the walls made it seem as though the two of us were not alone. "The same way we've been trying to go for about two years" He said "come on, you can't really be that blind can you?" I paused, no idea what an earth he was talking about. I didn't reply to him, I just sat there. Refusing to talk to him, to give into what he was saying. He caught on and continued, as though my response wouldn't have mattered anyway. "You don't see the way he looks at you." I scoffed and tore my eyes away from the fireplace "and how exactly does he look at me, may I ask?" There was a sickening silence falling around the room as he sat in deep thought for a while. He joined me on the sofa and stared into the flames I had found comfort in looking into only seconds before. It was a small while before he spoke again and the words lingered around my head for an even longer time. It may not have even been what he had said, or even whether it was the truth. It was just the simplicity of it that made me want to hear more. "Like you're a wild fire and he's just desperate to burn." ---- *I do not own the Harry Potter series. *All characters and story lines belong to J.K Rowling (Besides Chloe, who is my own character) *this is set in the 4th year.
