Hoseok is singing.
I gape at him in amazement.
The lyrics are wondrous; speaking of the truest of friendships and an inseparable bond. He mentions a love so deep he is unable to contain to it...I can't hear any further. My thoughts are screaming inside my head. There is a myriad of emotions churning within me; something so odd, I can't make sense of it.
The tune and lyrics, although light-hearted, hold a strange tension. His voice, I notice, is laden with despair.
He thrums the final note. Both of us fall silent. Finally, he turns towards me and asks, "What do you think?"
"Who was it for?" I say before thinking. That odd bundle of emotions threatens to engulf me again but I shove it away, waiting for his reply.
