"Running from me already, little one?" The voice was a whisper against my skin, dark and knowing. I turned too fast. Too desperate. He was closer than I expected-tall, lean muscle wrapped in black silk. Whiskey-colored eyes traced my lips, my throat. Slow. Unrelenting. "Do I feel familiar?" I swallowed hard. "No." He smirked. "Liar." His fingers brushed my wrist, and a current shot through me. My breath hitched. My body knew him. Even if my mind refused to. But that was impossible... wasn't it? - Kathryn Laurent came to Paris for a fresh start. What she found was something else entirely-something dark, intoxicating, inescapable. The dreams started first. A man with burning whiskey eyes. A touch that ignited and destroyed in equal measure. A voice that echoed in her bones. In those dreams, he ruined her-slowly, relentlessly-until she woke trembling, her body marked by something that should not be real. Then she saw him. Flesh and blood. Real. A star. A shadow. A presence that bent the world around him. He watches her like he knows every inch of her body. Like he's had her before and intends to again. But Kate doesn't remember him. And he? He has spent centuries remembering her. The past is tangled in the present, passion twisted with possession, love with vengeance. He is both her salvation and her downfall. The man who haunts her dreams and now, her reality. And when he finally touches her, there will be no waking up from it. Some loves are written in the stars. Some are written in blood. And some were never meant to be forgotten. - Tropes & Themes : ★ Dark, seductive romance ★ Fated lovers, past-life obsession ★ Mysterious, brooding hero with a sinful touch ★ Tension so thick it lingers like a ghost ★ Paris-luxury, shadows, and whispered temptation ★ Dreams that leave evidence behind ★ Mature, explicit smut-raw, consuming, inevitable ★ A love too powerful to stay buried ★ The line between fate and possession 18+

"I know you're a virgin but have you never been touched?" He asked, sliding his other hand down onto her leg. "What makes you say that?" Kat breathed, bracing her hands on the counter. "You react like someone who's never felt another's touch," Nex whispered, slipping his thumb under the band of her shorts. "So, have you not?" Kat opened her mouth to speak but stopped when his hand slid up from her leg, gliding up her stomach and stopping just below her breast. "Not even here?" He asked, following the curve of her breast with one finger, not touching, staying just below as he dragged it back and forth. "What about here?" He asked, sliding his hand down from her ribs to the bottom of her shorts then around to her butt, fingers nearly grazing it as he inched them up, under her pajamas. "I can say with certainty, never here," he said, lowering his other hand under the waistband of her shorts, touching the top of her underwear. "No, you've definitely never felt that before. I can hear your heart racing, I can feel your breathing, I can smell your body responding like it's never experienced these sensations before," he whispered, sliding a finger just underneath the band. "Should I answer its call?" #1 in demons on 6/15 -6/17/20! Again on 6/20 and 6/22-6/23! Sweet and innocent Katherine has a routine and is a little tightly wound. She was simply trying to rehearse lines for an audition. Next thing she knows, she's reading out loud her Latin lines and suddenly someone appears, claiming to be a demon she summoned to kill someone for her. Turns out demons can be hot. And he's getting pissed off she won't give him a name so he can kill and go home. The problem is, pissed off turns into something else and before he knows it, he wants to take away some of that innocence and loosen her up, or better yet, tie her up make her his. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as he stared across the table at me. I could seriously drown in his eyes. He was intoxicatingly attractive and he had to know it. That's why he was acting strange around me. For some reason, he looked at me as if I was the only one there with him. As if nobody else were here. And his voice... it pained me. It actually pained me with how utterly seductive and husky it always sounded. And the way he smelled all the time. I don't know why he smelled so strong, but I didn't mind. He smelled like evergreens and a hint of mint. It sounds like a bad combo, but it dizzied me with how lost I got in it. The thought of not being able to control myself, my thoughts and feelings and body when I'm around him, infuriated me. I was so good at holding myself together now, and he just unraveled me so easily, leaving me a mess. I wasn't the slightest bit afraid of him, and I had no idea why either. Just being in the same room, I felt like I didn't have to look over my shoulder. I didn't have to worry. I didn't even know who he was, and he still drew me in. "So, you were in California before? Why did you move?" Grace Hatfield asked, looking at him. She is our school's college and career advisor. She took me in and adopted me a couple years ago. She even gave me her last name. A saving grace. Why had she invited him here? Why did he come? He turned to her with a smile and a shrug. "Guess I just hadn't found what I was looking for yet." Something about the way he said it, sent a shiver down my spine. Why did I feel like there was so much more meaning behind his words than he was letting on? "Well, I hope you find what you're looking for." Grace said, and he turned to me with a devilish smirk and a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Something tells me that I will."
