Mousekit and Bluekit are the daughters of Leapordstar, Leader of MidClan, and what is rumored their father was a kittypet.
Mousekit is curious at every turn, while Bluekit is energetic and sparky.
And then something happens. Something that destroys MidClan.
Mousekit is pushed into a nearby rabbit-hole, and she is forced to watch every cat that has ever helped her, protected her, and comforted her, die.
The rabbit-hole leads down South of MidClan territory, into DreamClan territory.
Mousekit learns to break through ice, climb trees, and hunt smaller prey-like mice and voles.
But when a deep, unfamiliar danger appears and Mousekit must face it, another cat rushes to help, a cat that welcomes her into a new world.
