My shaky hands hold his as we both conceal ourselves behind a large tree. He gives them a reassuring squeeze before smiling at me
"Relax. Just trust me, baby."
Those words ease my anxiety that was coursing through my veins.
I gave a deep breath before we run out into the open, exposing ourselves to the withered environment which we now call our world.
