I grip the branch, praying to God it won't snap in half right when I get enough courage to actually trust it's strength. Holding my breath, I drop off the roof, swinging my feet in towards the open window. Once my feet are in, I snap my eyes shut and force my fingers to peel off the wood. I fly into the room at full speed, ending up painfully rolling when my feet give way under me. I fail at trying to use my hands to stop me from rolling and I end up slamming into the wall across from the window.
"Ouch," I mutter under my breath as I lay on my back staring at the ceiling. I lay there for a while, breathing heavy and going over everything that I've done in the past hour, not to mention who's house I just catapulted into. Everything is quiet in the room, everything is still.
       "Who's up there?!"
       Oh. Crap.

"Anabelle Jenkins, 15-year-old orphan, goes on the adventure of her life." Ugh, no. Scratch that. "Teenage orphan Anabelle Jenkins gets caught in some sticky stuff." Ew. No. Never. This is hopeless. Just read the book.

Hey guys, it's Maggie, the author. Real quick, this book and the excerpts above are all in the perspective of Anabelle, not me like a few other readers thought. This book and the following books in the series are soon-to-be in line for publishing consideration and I want them to be as good as they can! If you have any comments, you can either say them publicly in the book itself or privately in my inbox. If you wanna reach my personal e-mail for whatever reason (i won't judge your stalker-ish ways), it's 21discoromances@gmail.com. (and yes, I'm a full-time fangirl.) Thank ya, guys! I hope you like 'A (Kinda-Sorta...) Annie Story'!
