12 heroes from ancient lines rise up to stop a force threatening life on planet Earth.

Luz is left shaken when a trip to Scotland gone wrong leaves her a whole new person. With a whole new set of powers and urges to account for, she sinks even further when she figures out that she is one of the twelve descendants of ancients lines that have continually brought forth heroes when crisis emerges. Along with her friends, Luz tries to navigate the perils of her new life and take a swing at the enemy.

She doesn't remember her own name. All she knows is that the people call her Zamora. She reads of the past in libraries and comes across a familiar name. Fallon. The name of an old friend of hers. Zamora sets off on a journey to correct the past with her time-manipulating powers and to save the one she loves from many a gruesome fates. While on this journey, she's aided by Fallon in remembering who she is.

All Raine wanted was to grow up and be normal. His power already excluded him from most people, as it's quite rare. However, his dreams were crushed when he figured out that the world had other plans for him. Along side his best friend Hawthorne and the others, he navigates the emotional minefields of love and war.

Rowan is your typical basket case. His father left before he was born and his mother died when he was ten. Living with his aunt wasn't the best, but it was all he had. Everything was looking up for his future until Holland broke off their relationship and disappeared from the real life and the digital. Rowan becomes even more confused and disoriented when he's forced to take his position as the chosen descendant and save the world. And he isn't having it.
