Altered Reality

When Arlo's town is invaded by drug lords and gangs, she fears for her life over a new drug that's being experimented called "Medium Rei". Nobody knows what it does to you because whenever someone is infected by it, they disappear. When Arlo gets infected by it, she changes for the worst. She isn't a human anymore, instead, she's in a mountain with who knows how many other infected people like her. People and families are leaving the towns in waves, including Arlos. Nobody has come back from when they were infected... Until Arlo. She figures out the mountain and escapes to the town where she scavenges for food. She meets Dexter and they have a connection right from the start. But can they get over their past and move on? Or is it holding them back from any chance there is to stop the flow of Medium Rei.
