"Dusty Arlington," he sways my Valentino Rockstud bag back and forth with a playful tone lacing his voice, "who would've thought that New York's finest could kick butt?"
His tall, lean stature stands against the bricked-wall of alleyway. I carefully keep my distance from him, knowing very well that I couldn't unexpectedly send a whirl of razor-sharp icicles his way. He doesn't know that I'm a super, after all.
After regaining a steady breath, I cautiously walk over to the figure, in maroon spandex suit, to grab my nude-pink, leather purse. "Yeah well, it's not like you were any help."
I hastily hurry off to get away from him when suddenly, I sense the intense heat emitting from his body alongside me. "So, what could a simple villain do to get a date with the heiress?"
I stop in my tracks and let out chuckle, "unfortunately for you, fireball , the only man I'll ever love is Valentino Garavani."
"We'll see about that." The mysterious boy sends me a wink through his deep, maroon colored mask and within the blink of an eye, he disappears into the New York night sky. Golden sparks, soaring higher than the highest skyscraper, forms the shape of a heart. My breath hitches in my throat for the second time that night, knowing it could only be the work of the New-York's newly resident villain.
"First, a forced engagement to my childhood rival and now this?" Disbelief clouds my mind, "Looks like this heroine has her work cut out for her." I mutter helplessly to myself.
"We said whoever eats the most pizza has to do the dare no matter how cruel or easy it is." This is just a glimpse of our sleepovers. Ivy and Autumn always drag me into some kind of trap to do their evil dares. Tonight, they used my worst weakness, food.
Sighing, "fine. I'll take the dare." They cheered and high-fived as I stood in front of them, glaring.
"Better not be something bad!" I blurted, making them snap out of their cheering. They looked at me with a sinister smirk. The smirk where you know their up to something. Something bad.

PSA: this book, to say the very least, is not my proudest work. i made this when i didn't know a thing about writing, let alone writing a whole story. it's simply a book you'd read if you wanted a quick sap and not something in depth. feel free to check out my other books - they're arguably way better than this one
