Seventeen-year-old Nia is coping with the likelihood of losing her terminally ill aunt. She's all she has. Her parents died in a hurricane when she was a child. When a young stranger named Silver, uniquely handsome yet complex in manner, arrives and tries to convince Nia to read a letter that had been found with her when she was a baby, she is told her real parents are waiting to meet her, that there is more to why she has always felt different than everyone else. Only Nia needs time to adjust to the truth. Angered at her aunt for keeping such a lie and Silver for playing hard to understand, she delays reading the letter. Yet dark forces lurk closer than she thinks, there are mysteries to her heritage that need to be solved, including whether she should trust Silver and go wherever he requests
