Macy is just a regular girl who ends up saving the boy she likes from her brother. Elliot is the boy being bullied by Macy's brother. Elliot doesn't know he has a crush on his bullies sister. They end up falling in love. On Christmas eve Macy spends the day at Elliots house. When they exchange gifts they are both happy. Later on that night after a kiss Elliot walks Macy home. A few days later there is a New Year's Eve party at Macy's house and Elliot goes. While they kiss the first time that night there is a click and the see Macy's sister with a camera. Later on that night after the ball drops they here another click. When Macy turns to scold Sarah she is surprised to see her brother Jason standing there with the camera this time. Elliot is confused at first but then finds out that Jason is Macy's brother. Elliot then storms out and Macy chases after him. Later on Elliot calls Macy's sister Sarah from the hospital and Sarah rushes there. For a year Macy is stuck in the hospital in a coma. Elliot is wondering if she will ever wake up. While crying he finally admits that he loves her and is surprised when Macy says that she loves him back. Elliot then kisses her. Macy asks Elliot to sing to her, so he does.
A few years down the road Macy and Elliot got married and had children. They had their dream jobs too. It seemed like their lives were perfect. Maybe it was a bit too perfect, so life threw a curve ball at them. A curve ball that will eventually turn their perfect lives upside down. Macy won't be able to work anymore and Elliot retires from his job to take care of Macy. Eventually everything becomes normal again, but after a few years that curve ball returns. It eventually takes Macy's life sending Elliot into deep depression. The depression eventually leads to Elliot's death. Their legacy doesn't stop their though. Their love truly becomes eternal through their famous saying.
