It is 1914, and Henry Anderson is watching the world descend into war. Like many young men at the time, he is fascinated by the idea of warfare and glory. Henry enlists in the military against his parents' wishes and throws himself into the life of a British soldier in Flanders. But it is far from what he expects: Henry's fantasies of righteous battle fade into the grim reality of gruesome death and shell-shock. He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront. I wrote this for a history project while studying WWI and got way too involved in it, so here you are. WARNINGS: gun/bomb/gas-related violence, war descriptions, graphic death, suicide attempt. I will mark specific chapters with warnings and give summaries of those chapters on the following one. Okiee.. So, this was actually a Performance Task within my ELA class, we needed to come up with a short story, and I came up with this regarding one of my favorite OC's. Now then, this story is a somewhat self insert (For those who don't know what that is, it's basically where you input yourself in a story your writing) But this is an Alternate universe of me, so she's not really ME me-Y'know what I mean? Sup! This is my first book and I really no idea if I should do this but I am. This book will be about my year as an 8th grader. All the drama, crushes, friends, etc will be here. So you guys are practically my online diary. Buuuuuut with a little interruption of course.....

It's 1915, a family of four living in grief and poorly lives. A seventeen brave teenage girl, August Suet, whose life came to a tragic after leaving her parents, and taking the journey with her little sister, Monnie Suet, and close friend, Oggy Dawn. August's whole new life has began after getting referred as to a 'boy'. August is a young female soldier who finds a way to escape the First War, and go back to Monnie to return her remain's back home. It all started when my best friend was murdered and I was devastated my only friend that I trusted and loved so much was murdered. When school was back I got put in a class with Regina, Lily and June (the mean girls in my school). Everyone admired Regina and her group because they were "so pretty" but I didn't they have bullied me ever since I was in grade 3 and I have always hated them. Later I meet some new friends and actually was happy for little bit until I end up in the hospital and something bad happens...
