Naomi lives in a nomadic village in the eastern side of Africa during the late 19th century. She lives with her family, which consists of thirteen siblings, and both of her parents. At these times, the men are the providers and the women, the ones who stay at home. But things change after a breaking news. While Naomi sets out on a trek in a garden further out from her village, she unexpectedly sees a strange looking man. His skin was much paler than hers, his hair was golden and his eyes, Crystal blue. What happens when they get to know each other, especially with their different cultures and lifestyles? Is it permissible? And what if a little love blossoms? Does love really conquer all?

The foreign Language that will be used every now and then in the story is called Swahili. It is mainly spoken in the eastern countries of Africa. Which is also where I am from (Kenya).

This is a Curvy Community Romance: #DISCLOSURE #CelebrateBlackStories #Curvy #EyesLipsFierce "What other people hold onto in their tiny brains about black women is none of my concern," she tells herself. No matter what the salesman thinks, the young woman refuses to allow anyone to diminish who she is. At least, she hasn't allowed anyone to wield that kind of power over her since she stopped wearing pigtails. Striving for success in a man's world sets the dark-skinned businesswoman on a path to overcome the misguided notions of those who show more concern for the color of her skin without equally considering her ability to execute a contract with the finesse of a highly skilled surgeon. Africa is a beautiful boss babe who never fails to teach those who offend her a lesson about never judging a book by its cover. ----------------- "Why can't you spend more time with them?" "I told you this isn't the kind of life I want for myself." "But they're your kids too." "I don't have time for this." Once again his wife stormed off without a concern in the world for her family, and once again, he was left to explain to their children why they wouldn't see their mother after she promised she would take them on one of her infamous excursions. Israel had once assured himself that if he was a faithful husband, diligent family man, successful business owner, and dutiful son, he would live the life of his dreams. For his efforts, Israel knows all too well the hurt experienced when the person you love doesn't love you back. Not every woman can handle being treated like a queen. Learning such a harsh lesson the hard way makes him wonder if any good women still exist. Can anyone truly appreciate the beautiful boss babe also known as Africa? Will Israel continue down the path of heartbreak as he struggles to hold his family together? Are they destined to struggle against all the societal odds that insist it is impossible to find TRUE BLACK LOVE?

*please I wrote this story at 16/17. I'm 28 and I crying because I would rewrite this in a heartbeat especially coz I sound crazy* so read with caution* I fell in love. I fell in love with a fairytale. Oh Yes I did. You know that one story that gives every little girl hope out there that good things comes to those who wait even in rare but simple gems like a glass slipper. This hope carried me far and beyond. It's a fairytale that is relatable to any prospect of life. There will be your evil stepmother and evil stepsisters, your fairy godmother and your one true prince. It is a fairytale that understands the element of surprise: That what we seek can sometimes appear right in front of us without knocking on our doors. Most especially, it's a fairytale that understand the importance of love: A true prince may not come in shape of perfection but regardless of the imperfections and flaws, he would still remain perfect in your eyes. Regardless of its flaws, Africa was my father and Nigeria was my prince. Africa was my birthplace, born to the greatest warriors on the planet: Shaka Zulu, Nelson Mandela, Cleopatra, Kofi Annan even Didier Drogba the famous footballer. Most especially it was my home. It was the place I learnt to walk, talk, run and now 200000 feet above the ground I look down at my home. Little lights flickering everywhere like fireflies contrasting with the dark night. Maybe one day I will come back to my father. My prince. My Ile.

As Ayize, a black girl from Soweto, and Norman, a white boy, navigate the dangerous waters of their interracial relationship in apartheid South Africa, they face brutal consequences of their love. Will their story survive in a society built on racial division? "Why are you in love with me?" Ayize asks, torn between the love she feels and the dangers it brings. "I'm black and you're white. Norman, this is against the law." But for Norman, the boundaries drawn by apartheid are nothing compared to the depth of his feelings. "I don't see color, Ayize. If it's against the law, then why does it feel so right?"
