Mira Thompson's life hasn't been the same since her parents died in a car crash one Christmas, leaving her and her twin sister to take care of their damaged family and their part of their parents' wills. One two story house in sunny California. No family's perfect, everything can be fixed, you might think, but this broken family will never be. Imagine this.

A scarred and guilt riddled older sister that has a jail record, a pair of twins that look the same, but couldn't be more different taking over the role of their parents, two younger sisters with their own problems that almost drive them to the brink of insanity, and a baby brother that won't stop screaming, barely living in their home in New York, destroyed and grieving.

One day, after Mira comes home, bloody and bruised from being bullied at school, a switch flips for her twin sister. Kyra finally calls her parents' lawyer and arranges for all of them to move to California, where she figures they will all get a new start living without their parents. Mira finally can let herself be happy, but what really is happiness when you don't know who you are? When the family's flight touches down in the Los Angeles International Airport, she makes a vow to herself that she will never, ever let herself be hurt like that again, even if she has to change who she is.

But then everything changes. At the airport, she meets Mystery Boy, who is just as messed up and happens to be her neighbor, but has the power to turn her life upside down in the best way possible.

Will she be able to keep her vow without changing herself and heart, or will her true self prevent her from doing so?
