Education is one of the most significant factors in the development of a country. Education does not limit itself only to gaining knowledge; it also includes learning, practicing, and mastering skills in order to achieve goals. Any country is considered to be developed when it attains perfection or highest position in terms of economic, agricultural, defence, technology, transportation and healthcare sectors. In my view, education forms the skeleton of success in all these sectors which leads the nation towards development. If a country wishes to succeed economically, it has to do everything to improve the education system.
One of the greatest benefits we get with education is improved health. Very few people understand the importance of a good health and personal hygiene! Due to lack of education, many people are unaware of the various diseases caused by the contamination of water for example, cholera or typhoid. People should also be aware that they are the ones contaminating the water. Yet, even if they do understand the repercussions of contaminating the water and drinking the contaminated water, they go and do it. This is ignorance. Proper education can prevent this and improve health.
Proper education means higher wages and economic growth and a better way of life. Unless a person is educated, he or she cannot get a worthwhile job. Unemployment is a serious obstacle in the development and progress in a country's economic status, thus posing a hindrance to the growth of the nation. For example, illiteracy means only few job opportunities are open for people after school. This can only improve with better education. Very few children in rural areas gain the necessary education to earn higher paid jobs. This once again, brings them back to the same predicament, where they are unable to support families and put their children to work at an early age repeating the cycle. Therefore, education is considered as a very important phenomenon for the growth of an economy.
