Ever since I was a little child, I've dreamed of a better world. I look around me now to only find chaos...
As I walk down the empty street, I think of what could be. What could be if only we had treated this world right? I walk as my heavy boots stomp down the rough ground, the cold wind breeze brushing my silver locks, and past my white wings. I fold my arms over my chest, my Krahe shirt not enough to protect me from the cold weather. I never minded the cold, though the cold I feel right now is not the same...
As I reach the end of the road, the 'Welcome' sign signifying the end of the city grounds, I turn around as I take one last glance of the Dark Grounds, a place that I once called home. The city has survived so far, and I could guaranty that it will rise again. Because I, Thea Thompson, still have hope.
With that thought in mind, I turn around before spreading out my wings and flapping them up and down, lifting my body off the ground in the process. I then start flying in the direction of the compound, the Dakaita compound.

The future, something many people look forward to. The era of flying cars, skyscrapers reaching beyond the clouds and technologies beyond man's imagination. But, what if the future is not what we should be looking forward to? What if the future ends up in ruins, due to the actions that we are making today?
Thea's future is definitely not what she was looking forward to, as she lost her mother and was abandoned by her father at only the age of nine, forced to set onto the world of catastrophes on her own. She had to leave behind everything she owned, her home, her family, and her identity.
And now, after years of living in loss, she finds herself still walking in a world of ruins, still living in the city of ruins.
Some fates are worse than death--survival is one of them.
In the two hundred years since humanity left the Earth's surface to live in the sky, life on the ground faded to a myth, a tragic memory from which they severed themselves to survive. They floated above continents turned to sand and lands swallowed by the seas, watched storm after storm rage against their cities and their monuments until they broke apart the last vestiges of civilization in penance for generations of human greed.
As a lightning harvester charged with flying her ship into these storms for energy, Raina has seen more of the planet than most. She has spent her entire life soaring above its craters and scars, studying the gaping wounds of human devastation, as she honed her skills and became the youngest captain in storm-chaser history.
Her ship has flown for generations. Her skills are unparalleled.
But none of that matters the day they go down.
