After Lucy saw her father shoot at Natsu she always thought he had died. She was even told he had died from their friends, she was heartbroken. She couldn't admit it to her self before, but she really fell for him. When Mira and Erza took Lucy back to the mansion to pack her stuff up they found out that most of the maids and butlers were dead. The only ones to survive were Nova, Brett, Hadly, and Keely.
It's been three years now that Lucy and her friends moved to LA to get away from her dad and her friends swore to protect her since she knew what they did and people would come after her now for being "close lovers" with Natsu or that's what they thought.
Lucy soon joined into the Mafia as well though to avenge Natsu and the maids along with the butlers who were killed in cold blood.
