When unexpected turn of events have 16 year old Riley move to live with her Aunt and cousin, she was anything but thrilled. It meant new school, new people and no surfing. Ouch!

Today, a year later she can fade in as good as a chameleon. Life's hurdles now come to her as her cousin brother, his not-so-nice girlfriend and crazy best friend. All's well!

Seth Higgins was away for more than a year. But he is back! And Santa Cruz has a welcome present- Riley. The sparks fly from day one. He gets on her nerves and she annoys him. Neither will accept that there is something beyond their constant bickering.

When past comes knocking on their doors, they are forced to part ways. Can this be it for them?

Straight lines, blurred boundaries

"I don't know why, but I found myself staring at Brodie. His messy brown sun-bleached hair, his tanned skin, the way his tank top clung to his chest. He was wearing board shorts, just like me, but somehow he looked... different. I must've been staring for too long because he caught me. His green eyes met mine, and instead of laughing it off, he stepped closer. Our dancing turned... well, suggestive. We were moving against each other in ways that would definitely get us kicked out of any family-friendly venue. Our hands were going up each-others tanks, and down the waist bands of our board shorts. But the crowd loved it. People were shouting, clapping, and whistling. That was all that mattered, right? Surely everyone knew we were just messing around. Brodie was like a brother to me. Right? I should've stopped him. I should've laughed it off, stepped away, something. But I didn't." Brodie has been Havens' best friend for as long as he can remember. They've faced every challenge in life together. But when boundaries are blurred and everything takes a turn, Haven doesn't know what to do.
