In former years, you were a very powerful knight, sent out by your king to hunt down those afflicted with what he said was 'the curse'.
In much more recent ones, you have succumbed to what you hunted.
You still uphold your task, however, and you are now called 'the Pursuer' by many unfortunate hollows that have died by your blade.

Your lord, whose name you have forgotten, has become furious with you for no obvious reason. In his rage, he used very powerful and dangerous magic to send you to another land and time.

This land is called Remnant.
