"The inferno of the keep cast a hellish red light upon his weary form, the scar that marred his face more prominent than ever. His uniform was charred and burnt, held together by a few threads. His silver badge, a symbol of his position as commander, was partially melted. 'Sir, the keep is burning. The enemy approaches. What are your orders?' The old general look out upon his people and the keep. In the distance, he could see a sea of darkness and despair - the enemy. The moonlight accented his wrinkles and his graying hair. Although he wasn't in nearly as bad shape as the commander, he had a kind of sadness in his navy eyes, like he was a man that had seen far too much in his lifetime. 'Sir?' The general turned and stared him right in the eyes. 'Bar the gates.'" Cedrica Salvador is just one of the five and a half million people in the great city of New York. [EDITED EDITION] Hera could no longer hear the clicking of her heels as she walked towards the Magic Fountain, the fountain that would protect her from possession of a Conjured. The floor here was still stone like in the hallway, yet it was dead quiet. Her shoes just made no noise. She was so close she could make out the individual strands of magic in the water of the Fountain when she heard the scream. It was shrill and blood-curdling, filled with so much fear it made Hera want to scream herself. Which she did, when she looked up. It was a Conjured. Looking directly at her. ~~~~~ Hera Giala loves books. She kind of sees herself as a background character, necessary to the plot but not really anything special. Yet no amount of reading could have prepared her for what was to come. A war has been waging for centuries. The war between Giala and Conjured - evil, decaying, humanlike creatures with burning blue eyes and a hatred for royals. Royals like Hera, princess of Giala. And now, as the new queen, it's Hera's job to kill them, and not loose herself or the bright colours of her world in the battle for peace.
