I think this to myself, listening to the whispers as I walk down the hall. I know that I'm a freak, that I'm a monster. This had been going on ever since I was born. A very rare, very freakish mutation in my DNA gave me this very very strange thing. My eye color changes with my emotions. Blue for calm. Red for anger. Green for happiness. Gray for boredom. Yellow for embarrassment. Orange for pain.
So often my eye color was orange. So often I would walk out of the bathroom covered in bruises from the many beatings of my bullies. So often I cried myself to sleep.
