Shelby has suffered through neglect and abuse as a daughter - resulting Shelby to run away from home. Shelby's new home is living on the streets and her mission: ALWAYS ON THE RUN!

Shelby has dealt with prostitution as means of survival and even abusing drugs as her life on the streets begin. At Horizon, Shelby comes off as bitter with a sarcastic attitude, taking her pain out on others and creating negative relationships, like on the Princess Juliette Waybourne.

Shelby refuses to reveal her dark secrets to the Horizon's counselors, secrets she hasn't told anyone, secrets that are not documented in her files at Horizon.
