The existence of vampires is now a world wide fact. Many of these vampires have pledged that they only want peace and to live a harmonious life among the humans, but there are rogues who refuse to give up their murder and slaughter filled lives. This is where the Hunters come in. They once killed vampires on their own terms with their elemental powers granted to them at birth from the sun goddess, but now with the existence of vampires well known, many have stopped living a nomadic life and serve as body guards for the rich and powerful. Those not serving as a body guard are handed wanted list each month from the Vampire King of rogues.
Elena Beaudelair is one of the best hunters, with an exceptionally high affinity for her gifts, she has taken out more vampires then even some of the oldest of Hunters. All of her assignments ending in success.
