Through the perspective of a contemporary teen living in a conservative world, learning to love, to hate, the meaning of regret and the reason behind life, "An Ode to You" describes a girl battling herself in order to gain an understanding of herself and who she is and her place in the world.
"I used to ask my father 'What does it mean to be peaceful?' and he would always say 'it's to be content' so I look at myself in the mirror, I look at all my flaws and scars, I see not only my past but my future and I ask myself 'Are you content?'"
"An Ode to You" is not only a story but it's a journey and a fight, to live life with no regrets, to love who you are and how you were born, and to be content, it is an ode to you.
