Two hundred years in the future, scientists have discovered a "cure for human nature," little white pills. These pills are advertised to correct chemical imbalances in the brain and prevent things like violence, depression and low IQ's. Seventeen year old Lyric has never been convinced by the whole thing. And one night, when a group, called The Boycotters, announces that they have been refusing "treatment", Lyric is faced with a choice. Continue doing what everyone she has ever known believes in, or fight the system and risk her life in the process.

EXTRACT FROM BOOK: I don't know how to live anymore. With everyone I care about dead, all I can do is focus on Survival finding Food, Fresh Water and Keeping away from the dangerous groups of Reluquos. After the Disease that killed off the Majority of the world finally deceased it left the world a Hostile and Dangerous place. With approximately 2,500 people left in America and 15,000 left in the world, it isn't often you come across someone just passing by, there are three main groups that stick together The Beati, who are the apocalyptic version of a hippy, The Operarios Group (just normal people trying to survive), and then of course The Reluquos the power hungry killers who execute anyone who try's to get in their way or disagrees with them. Oh and then there are just the Loners like me hoping to find somewhere they can fit in and belong. I don't know what made me go this route but for some reason I did and now I'm standing face to face with a Reluquos Army Leader. His strong arm grips onto my Shoulder stopping me from moving, He regards me coolly studying my face for signs of fear, which I'm trying my damned hardest to suppress. Finally he talks....Complete

It's 2500 and the world is still suffering from the disastrous effects of World War 3. Plague, the result of the recent biochemical war, sweeps across Eurasia, leaving millions dead in its wake. Even the best scientists in Europe are powerless against it. The main reason for the general misery is this. Europe is now under the tyrannical rule of the Democratic Republic of America, and this has wreaked havoc upon the streets of Europe. Poverty, starvation and disease now fill even the greatest of Europe's cities. They hold a cautious peace treaty with the Oceanic Union, but of course, this doesn't come without a price. However, for Europe at least, there is a glimmer of hope. For the growing resistance has finally managed to recruit the greatest criminals of the 26th century to spark the beginning of the greatest rebellion in human history. Unfortunately for them, the 'greatest criminals of the 26th century' are teenagers. And even in this day and age, teenagers still bring their insecurities and petty rivalries with them, wherever they go. Until scientists found a planet only couple light years away that is a sister planet to Earth. No one has ever been on this planet before and is unsure what will people find there. So on the year B18, all children born within that year were taken from their families and sent into a spaceship to be trained and prepared for the landing of this new planet. Samantha and her squad are flying through space and preparing themselves both mentally and physically for the adventures of this new planet.
