  After a traumatic incident, an 18 year old Mark decides that it'd be best for him to get away from the memories, and move halfway across America, in hope that he'll be able to start a new life for himself in California.
   Within a few weeks of moving, Mark finds that everything is finally going his way for once, he has made lots of new friends at school, and virtually no enemies.
   There's only one person who he doesn't know where he stands with, and that's Jack. To say Jack is misunderstood is an understatement, his trust issues have forced him to push any potential friends away, and Mark is no exception. But for some reason, Mark is determined to become Jack's friend, to find out who he really is.

It seems silly to think that I'd tried so hard to go against the very thing I wanted. It seems silly to think that he and I couldn't see what the future held for us. Mark and I, well it was only a matter of tempting fate.
