Maya, Riley's best friend (obviously), has never really understood any of her feelings. The only thing she knows is to never get her hopes up, it leads to disappointment. Like a bunch (not all) of teenagers going through puberty, Maya starts to develop feelings she could only describe as BOI-LA-LA-LU when Mr. Matthews assigns a partner project. The start of a new school year has Maya's emotions going all over the place. She has to deal with bullies, a certain crush, and school in general.
