Phil hated himself, because of the scars he hade created onto his skin and believing he wasn't good enough.
Dan meets Phil and he slowly starts to see vibrant colors again, starting with Phil's bright blue eyes. Slowly Dan starts to fall for Phil without even realizing it.
Maybe, loving someone was all Phil needed to love himself.

Dan truly just wants to be loved. Phil is usually always happy, his home life may be scattered but he for the most part doesn't let it bother him, and he seems to just go with the flow, that is until Dan catches his attention and Phil makes a decision to stick up for Dan.
