Nicholas Greene.
He never converses with anyone; just "yes", "no" and other forms of short answers.
He has no friends; it's as if he takes notice of no one, and no one notices him.
The only thing that anyone knows about him is that he draws. In class, in his free periods, after school - all the time.
So one day, when told to draw a portrait of someone in person for a graded assignment, he chooses me.
Someone with whom he has never conversed with.
My only question is: why?

"that's rich coming from a pretty boy" I narrow my eyes. "I'm not a pretty boy." He smirks standing from the desk and reaching forward twirling a piece of my hair between his fingers. A private behavioural school for those who can afford it, but after one too many expulsions and a scholarship opportunity Jasper finds himself stuck in a place filled with pretty boys who've done nothing worse then forget to shine their silver spoon. Beckett Chambers took on a mentorship position at Balton's to stay away from home. He could care less about status and social image he just wants to find a way out of Manning Heights and Balton's was supposed to be his safe haven until then. I stop talking, realising what a total idiot I sound like, while his grin broadens. In that second, I am grateful for my dark skin, as he can't see me blushing. "Tongue-tied?" My cheeks get hotter. "Shut the f*ck up." He actually laughs. "Don't worry, honey," he says, his hot breath brushing against my face, shocking me. When did he get this close? "One day," he whispers, now in my ear,"I will f*ck you." I realise that my eyes are closed and I open them. He's gone. I stand there frozen, in total shock. What the actual f*ck just happened? *** When all you know is disappointment, you become your own best friend. You isolate yourself from everyone else. You need no one; love is a weakness.
