I feel that brown eyes are not represented enough in literature, film, television etc. We're always portrayed as so ordinary and not special. It's always 'chocolate brown eyes' or 'dark eyes.' So I decided to write some descriptions of my own, and compile some of the descriptions that I like best. I also hope to incorporate some photography into this, taking photos of my brown eyed friends.

The Eyes
My eyes aren't normal. They were green, as in a vibrant, bright green. A lot of people marveled at them. But I hated them. I couldn't stand to look at them. I knew what they meant. I knew what they really were. I am currently rewriting this entire story as my skills as a writer have greatly improved from when I first wrote this.Complete

I'm different, I can read and see what people think. Every moment of everyday... it's not normal. I've been this way for too long. Ever since I saw my best friends dad die in front of my own two, once blue eyes. My now gold orbs, seeing the world for what it actually is. [ COMPLETED] Excerpt: Come in." I said pulling him into my office. "I'm actually glad you came. I was going to call you and tell you that, even though I thought the gestures were really nice. It has to stop." "Go out with me tonight." He said taking a step closer to me, ignoring what I'd just said. I could feel his breath on my skin and I didn't know if I would be able to keep my hands to myself. "Did you hear what I just said?" I asked in barely a whisper, taking another step back. "Yeah." These are all stories I came up with, some are finished and some aren't. I may complete some later on, maybe. You may notice my writing has more description than plot, I do that on purpose to give a poetry yet still story effect on my writing. I'm open to constructive criticism but if you are cursing at me and informally speaking then I'm not going to listen to you, thank you for reading my description! This is my first published novel Under Glass. It's out of print so I'm going to be releasing it here, chapter by chapter for free. As I uploaded I updated it a bit so it's unedited right now. Dedication There are days where a boy with brown eyes still floats into my mind. He had a lopsided grin and a great sense of humor. We dated in college where we danced and talked about all the things we wanted to be when we grew up. We broke up, it was dramatic like all college breakups are. He committed suicide while I was hanging out with my friends. His death changed my entire life.Complete

"What else do you want me to say, Mia?" "Did you mean it?" There is a pause and I just-I feel exhausted, the kind that 12 hours of sleep hasn't been able to fix. "Hannah said I don't deserve to be loved, is that how you feel too?" She might not have said it in as many words but that's exactly what she meant. He takes my hand in his and kisses it. "Between the both of us-it's I who doesn't deserve to be loved." "Too bad you already are." "Please stop saying it!" he may not have screamed the words at me but he might as well have. "You think I am lying?" He holds my face with both his hands and looks deep in my eyes. "Mia, I will say this for the last time. I don't do love. I don't want to be loved by anyone and I will never fall in love with anyone ever. If you love me, keep that love to yourself. Please." "Why?" "This is the deal, Mia. Take it or leave it. I will give you my loyalty and my time but I will not have you telling me you love me ever again. I don't believe in love and I can't give you love. Can you live with that?"
