Rachel Cullens has many secrets that she would like to keep to herself. She had to leave everything behind when she started running. When she left, she left so suddenly that no one knows where she is. She changed her name and now goes by Amanda Miller. She gets assigned to a new school that she thinks she will be safe there. Until the first day and happens to run into someone that knew her from before. She worries that he will blow her cover and ruin everything she has done to get away.

Austin Parish is a guy of many talents, along with that he can read people very well. The first time he see's Rachel he knows that they have met before. In Amanda's opinion he observes people a little to much. He has a suspicion that she is in trouble and wants to help. Amanda worries that if he knew the truth he would get hurt.

Can Amanda trust him with her dark past? Can Austin ever forgive her for leaving him behind?
