Maybe with a few cuts and bruises, but they survived. That wasn't a metaphor. Thomas' friends always asked about the bruises that would occasionally peak past his clothes. And he always gave the same answers. Until someone sees past all the smoke and mirrors and realizes just how toxic Thomas and Angela's relationship has become.
