Those are just a few of the many words that cross the mind of Isabella Favier's new butler, the dark, quiet, and imposing Claude Faustus.

The only daughter of a wealthy Marquis, Isabella was forced to move from the French countryside to London's West End following the death of her family and the loss of her lands. Her life changed forever on the day her father died. She now wants nothing more than to find those responsible for the demise of her family's honor. Finding and killing the men who seem to continually evade justice is all that matters to her now. She'll do anything for her revenge. She'd even sell her soul.

However, now that's she's gone and done just that, her world has turned upside-down. She doesn't know what to believe anymore, and that all has to do with her new steward.

Claude's a demon. That means he's evil, right? If so, he's not acting the part any longer. Clearly something isn't going according to plan and Isabella is going to have to find out what that is, especially after one still midwinter night when they go far beyond the bonds of a typical relationship between servant and master.
