(edit) I forgot to add that this started out as a confessional journal about becoming clean after a 10 year + addiction to OTC cold meds, but that was not my style of writing, I liked the material so I wanted to expand it into a novel length work featuring the journal elements. To say this work is a roller coaster would put it lightly. Although there are elements of time travel I would consider my sudden transitions reality travel. I use actual experience and dreams as a foundation, then toss in some fourth wall breaking narratives (meta-fiction), with a sprinkling of facts and quotations from songs and factual articles. It tends to be written similarly to an essay sans the boring. I have been influenced strongly by Vonnegut and W. S. Burroughs , and a wide variety of album rock, and that bleeds through. The tags dystopian and dark humor describe the whole piece best but there is a lot of genre jumping. I've done a good deal of research, not just for factual things but for the type of writing I do. Dream Journal and Analysis
I want to start by saying I am no Psychologist, nor do I specialize in any sort of study of the mind. I just happen to have very strange dreams that I prefer to write on paper (ironically) and analyze them myself and how I feel it resembles what I truly think about when I'm not in control. When i'm asleep. each chapter will be a new dream I have experienced and me just ripping it piece by piece to uncover what it is I think about. MISSING
A dream I had that forced its way out of my head and onto Wattpad. A story that wants to be told. The night of July 23rd going into the morning of July 24th 2015 I had a dream as I slept, a dream that played like a movie. When I woke, I felt I just had to write it. It wanted to come out. I wrote over 2,700 words then and there before doing anything else. A week later and a story became complete at a little over 7,700 words. This, for a long time, was something I really wanted to return to. There was and is so much more that I thought could be done with this tale, so as January 2022 comes to a close, a return does come to that world. Those 7,7000 words have become 8,600 words of an opening story in this ... world. The time had come to explore this world a little further ... a second tale, complementing the first, written between January 31st - February 2nd 2022 now takes the total word count to just under 12,800 words.
