In a reality where most Nekos are used as slaves, pets or worse things, they have just been given rights. Not the same rights as humans but some. Only some places have these rights, though.
Dan is a Neko and is being sold in a pet store. Rights aren't implemented into his city yet. He dreads what will happen when he gets sold.
Phil is the YouTuber everyone knows now and wants a pet. He went to the pet shop, thinking of getting a hamster or two but the Neko cages catch his eye. He has always been against the way Nekos are treated and hopes to spread his message across the internet.

Dan and Phil are both new to Asherson High though Phil knows a bit more about the school than most people do. In year xxxx scientists decided to experiment on something new. They buy people on black market and created an unknown liquid to inject on them. After sacrificing hundreds of people for the unknown liquid to keep evolving after some test something happened that scientists themselves will call impossible. A hybrid. "A human with animal ears and tail?!" " we'll become millionaire if we sell them to black market! People will bet thousands of their money to buy one of this creatures. " " We'll just make sure the government won't know about this. " After some years of selling different kind of hybrids the government eventually know of this. They plan on stopping this kind of transactions but it's already too late. People falling in love and mating with their hybrids causing it's population to increase. The scientist's payed their crime in jail and got their head slashed off their own body. Government approve that people can take care of hybrids but can be sentenced to being put in jail for a life time if known of abusing them. Everything sounds peaceful now aren't it? No. M/n after a stressful day on his school just wanted to lay down on his bed while sipping on his hot chocolate as he watched the rain poured down on his window. But when a male neko around his age knocked on his door drenched in rain, shivering and bruised, he just need the urge to cry why things keep happening and when it happens it just need to bother him. Dan truly just wants to be loved. Phil is usually always happy, his home life may be scattered but he for the most part doesn't let it bother him, and he seems to just go with the flow, that is until Dan catches his attention and Phil makes a decision to stick up for Dan. The only problem is when once his restaurant becomes a hit and gets super famous he sees someone he thought he would never see again... --------------- This book was already finished but never published, I went back and reread it and realized how bad it was so, some chapters are rewritten while some were just edited. Not as proud of it and there is stuff I definitely should of done better but I have no will to fix anything else. I also plan on this to be a faster paced story and shorter as it's just an idea I had that I don't wanna put much time into and isn't short enough to be a oneshot. --------------- No actual smut in this book as I'm not fully comfortable nor ready to write it!
