I don't know what's wrong with me, I've never felt like this before; The first time I saw him I felt nothing but disdain, but since then he has inexplicably grown on me. He is like a parasite who has drained away all my insecurities and sorrow.
I laugh in his presence and feel safe in his embrace, cry in his absence and go crazy with insecurity when I don't know what he is doing. I sing in pain when he is gone and dance with happiness when he comes back. He unintentionally drugs me with a dose of ruffees every time he says 'I love you'. I fell for him and am still falling for him but surprisingly am not getting hurt as he is always there to catch me after every fall."

Catching Feelings

"Let's go for sparks then" he tried to grabbed my hand but Josh pushed me behind him. "Are you trying to touch someone else's mate, Alpha?" Josh asked. "Josh!" Others shouted and Drake growled loudly, his eyes turning black. And he looked at me with those eyes. "Just remember Elly! "What of this thief I hear that has hidden themselves in The Lands of Luxury?" I say. Rail lowered his emerald eyes towards the horizon. "Have you thought of my proposal?" Rail asks, avoiding my question. He had asked me many times to become his protector and leave the True One. Of course, I always say no. It pained me to see the hurt in his once peaceful eyes. "You know my answer." I whisper. I lay my hand on top of his. There was always a spark that clouded my mind when I touched Rail. I pull away, dropping my eyes. "This was a wonderful gathering, Rail. Thank you, but I must return to the True One." I begin to light the room with my silverlight overpowering Rail's golden blaze, getting ready to flash. "Wait! Stay to find the thief. Please, Aderes." I'm hovering over the floor. Rail grabs my hand, and the shock brings me back to him. I lower myself and let go of him. "I will stay until the thief is found. Then I must return to the True One's heaven." I try to smile at Rail to calm him. It works. His green eyes linger on me as I walk away from the balcony and return to the gathering. *** After meeting Jay, Sarah's father is killed, which causes her to accidentally tap into unknown powers. Little Spark
One of the most *frequently asked questions* I get from readers of my published novels: "Was Dear Martin the first book you ever wrote?" The answer is no. Dear Martin was the third. The second (at long last!) will be published in Spring 2022, but the first will never see the light of day... Or so I used to say. *Used to* because we are currently in the thick of a literal global pandemic. And we're bored. And trying to stay motivated/encouraged/hopeful, etc. etc. So here it is. Nic Stone's first EVER novel that wasn't supposed to see the light of day. Starting today, April 1st, 2020, I'll post a chapter a day for the next 50 days (you read that right; this joint is LONG) and will leave it up indefinitely. You will laugh--AT me, but also occasionally with me. You will roll your eyes. You will have moments when you wonder if *The Nic Stone* actually wrote this long and intensely tropey and cliche book. About a 16-year-old biracial girl who sometimes glows in the dark, and after the death of her mother, discovers not only some latent supernatural abilities, but a prophesied mission she'll need them for. It is not professionally edited and is likely full of typos (though this was like the twelfth draft). It hasn't been beta-read and probably has some problematic rep in it. But my hope is that by posting it as-is, someone out there who doesn't feel *good enough* will see THIS starting point of a #1 New York Times bestseller and will be encouraged to get the story nagging at them down on paper.
