Eleanor is special. She cannot play piano particularly well, hardly ever wins at chess, and is practically failing her algebra classes. But Eleanor can do something most cannot. She can conjure fire.

Eleanor is one of the small percentage of Earth's population that can harness the power of the world with a swish of her fingertips. After burning down her preschool in a fit of rage, she was deemed too dangerous to attend school with the rest of her unspecial classmates, and was thus shipped off to the Northeastern Academy for the Elites. Here, she is taught to control and amplify her abilities. But being in a school filled with the world's most powerful children is dangerous business, and Eleanor has yet to truly learn the consequences of playing with fire.
