My body had no choice as he roughly turned me around. At first I didn't understand what I was looking at. Bright oranges and yellows stood out against black, charred earth. The crackling was fire. The forest was on fire. The next breeze was hot and reminded me of an opening oven. Ash drifted around us like snow and began to pile up. Smoke slowly replaced the oxygen and made it hard to breath.

im gna be honest this is a huge work in progress, but essentially After a major traumatic event in Griffen Westons life sends him spiraling into a life he never expected, things seem beyond fixing. He had never felt so empty. But grief has a certain smell. It's a scent that attracts a certain kind of creature when you head out into the woods. His dreams tell him tales before he sees them. He watches this mysterious wisp of white hair and green cloth dart about the moss to evade him. The scent of patchouli and lavender with the pugent musk of sulfur harrasses him into submitting into this feeble attempt at following her. Or It. Whoever this person may be, they heard him calling out. They knew what he needed. He never expected to find himself so enamored with something so unique. But he didnt know how to find a way to stay away from this curiosity. Every day without fail, I take a hour walk in the forest behind my home after school. This time something happened that I didn't even expect in these woods. At first I heard a low growl and thought it was just a dog and an owner. Then it got louder, sounding like it was getting closer. My head jerked in a direction where a twig snapped, causing my heart to start beating faster then normal. It was a bit dark in the forest, considering it was winter. Then that's when I saw it, the red eyes coming from the bushes. My feet were frozen to the spot, I wanted to run but my feet didn't want to move. I felt a hand go on my shoulder, turning my head, I saw a man, probably in his early twenties. ''Run!'' He whispered but loud enough for it to be a shout. I looked at the eyes and a hand grabbed mine, pulling me off in a different direction. This isn't the best way to meet someone but what happens when they see more of each other?
