The Look of Danger

It's been six months since the nightwalkers were outed, forced into the daylight. They roam the far East Side of Brooklyn now, a gated off area that they control. It's been six months since Jupiter has been out of her coma, walking the streets with a missing sister and constantly vacant-looking mother. Back home in her body, nothing can ever be the same again. Her friends and family have moved on; she's a background character to them now. A freak coincidence at the worst time.

It gives her all the more reason to meet Emmanuel Sun, the half-Chinese surrogate leader of the nastiest bloodsuckers on the East Side of town. He's cool and captivating, and bipolar when it comes to her. He's mean to the world, but funny and sincere when he meets her. Though they have a nice start, things go south when his empire is at stake. He puts together a team of humans to dig out the traitor, and Jupiter is his leading lady.
