With a chance to seek revenge on the very organization that tortured and placed him under his ban, Coal must decide which side he actually stands with. 'In a world of the supernatural, if you're human, you're obviously not normal.' ~~~~~~~~~~ Aiden Cadwell has all a guy his age needs. A dependable family, a loyal best friend, and a devoted girlfriend. Or at least what he thought he had anyways. Battling his last year of high school is difficult. Avoiding the trauma his cheating ex-girlfriend and unloyal ex-best friend have left behind is even more difficult. If only high school drama was all he had to worry about. Aiden's life only gets more complicated when a new mysterious stranger appears. Secrets come to light, enemies come out of the shadows, and a new world comes to life. Laylani Blackwood's only purpose in life was one thing, to serve and protect the Bancrofts at any cost. Her grandparents had served them, her parents as well, now it was her turn to carry on the legacy. She was prepared for many things but babysitting a mortal in the mundane world was not one of them, but the king needed a guardian he could trust and she needed a way to prove herself. Her new charge? The lost Bancroft heir apparently. She was definitely not prepared for that. Nor was she prepared for the awkwardly charming, not-so-confident, and aggravating guy she now had to protect with her life. Was it too late to ask for a different job? ~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: Y'all know the usual warnings everyone puts out and they aren't any different here. This is my work, hard work, and I would very much like it to stay that way please. There is strong language and possible content, you've been warned. I'm still a new writer and learning so work with me here and help me fix it, NICELY. This is not a continuously updated story, it is a hobby at the moment that I do in my free time.

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

6 parts Ongoing Mature

Abominations, freaks, monsters; society has forever ostracized those who stand out. And when the discovery of a new mineral leads to people developing supernatural abilities, these "Abnormals" are treated no differently. However in the wake of a catastrophic event that left everyone wondering whether it was the end, everything changed. Now Abnormals are appreciated more than ever as an era of Superheroes was born, inspired by the heroes who saved the World! But this story isn't about those heroes, instead we follow Elliot Campbell, seventeen years later, in the waning years of Superhero popularity. Elliot is your average bystander who struggles everyday to stay above rock bottom, except for one big problem; he is an absolute loser, incapable of making correct decisions. That is until he is offered the power to change the course of his life forever. He could become an Abnormal or even more hopeful he could become a Superhero! Except that the way he would get his powers isn't exactly above board & the people he would be joining are fighting crime outside of the law. Is this the chance he must take to turn his life around or just another BIG mistake in a long long list of them?
